Al Mahdi

'Abdul Muhsin Al-'Abbaad

The topic of the book is critical. So many have expressed their beliefs and opinions on the topic: those who say it is an innovation in Islam, those who say it is 'symbolism', the conspiracy theorists and their theories, and those who have out rightly rejected it! And as such, do not be shaken by the whims and doubts. This book expounds -with some detail- the correct belief [with proofs], and also refutes and responds to the common allegations of those who have wrong belief in this issue. [...]

This book is fact a discourse which shaykh al-Islam wrote to An-Nasir, the sultan of his time, clarifying his position on this controversial subject. It was his position which his enemies later distorted and utilized as a means to have him imprisoned in Damascus, wherein he remained until his death in the year 721 A.H.

Moreover, Taqiyudin as-subki wrote a book entitled shifa as-siqam in which he tried to refute Ibn Taymiyah by authenticating some weak and fabricated narrations on the virtues of visiting the grave of the Prophet (PBUH) Hafiz Ibn Abdil Hadi, one of Ibn Taymiyahs foremost students, refuted As-Subki in his Sarim Al-Munki and excerpts of his refutation are also included in this publication detailing As-Subki's gross misrepresentation of the truth. Before you, O Muslim, is a small treatise containing noble Aayaat of the Qur'aan, authentic sayings of the Prophet and selected Sharee'ah rulings. Before you, O Muslim, is a small treatise containing noble Aayaat of the Qur'aan, authentic sayings of the Prophet and selected Sharee'ah rulings.

Despite its small size, it comprises of that which the Muslim should know about death, the admonition it provides us with, and the encouragements and warnings related to it, as well as its effect upon the life of the Muslim.

It contains an abridgement of much of what is reported in the Book of Allaah, the One free and far removed from all defects and the Most High, and what is authentically reported from the Sunnah of Allaah's Messenger with regard to Islamic regulations about funerals and related matters, whilst explaining the correct view where there is a difference of opinion amongst the scholars. These rulings are quoted without mentioning the evidences, discussion of the topic or quotations of the details from the books of fiqh, in order to make the book easy to read and to avoid making it lengthy.

The aim of this treatise is to make it easy to refer to the fiqh regulations concerning funerals when death occurs, which is something inevitable whether sooner or later, since it is a fact that the books written about this - being excellent but large - are difficult to refer to for the common Muslim, and even for the educated or the student of knowledge, particularly when the misfortune strikes and the hearts are preoccupied! Description of Paradise in the Glorious Qur'an

Abdul-Halim ibn Muhammad Nassar As-Salafi

Writing about Paradise is of great importance in view of its significance in the belief of a Muslim. This belief makes him eligible for enjoyment of the bliss and the happiness of the Hereafter. It is not a belief that is limited to the life of this finite and ephemeral world only as compared to the everlasting Hereafter. Rather, it is a great creed that links the life of man in this world to that of the Hereafter so that his vision will not be restricted to this world alone but extends to the [...]

This belief makes him eligible for enjoyment of the bliss and the happiness of the Hereafter. Rather, it is a great creed that links the life of man in this world to that of the Hereafter so that his vision will not be restricted to this world alone but extends to the Hereafter. Belief in Paradise is one of the fundamentals of faith.

The Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, was asked about faith and he answered, "Faith is to believe in Allah, in His angels, in His Books, in His Messenger and in the Last Day; and to believe in pre-decree, its good and bad." [less]

The rest of the book deals with dream interpretation, its correct rules and procedures, drills to help understand these rules, and a large glossary of interpreted dream symbols. This, we hope, fulfills two important goals regarding sleep and dreams: It establishes their understanding upon the strong foundation of the Quran and Sunnah, and it eliminates a great deal of superstition that surrounds them. Indeed, from Allah (SWT) alone we seek help and acceptance. [less]

This original work was first presented as a Ph.D. thesis in 1994 at the University of Wales. It is a well-balanced combination of library as well as field research which systematically and critically assesses the theory and practice of exorcism among orthodox Muslims.

The field research is comprised of interviews with seventeen exorcists from seven countries. The results are analysed in the main text, and the interviews themselves are reproduced in a sizeable appendix. This book is a unique contribution to the understanding of a subject little known among western scholars.

This work is specifically aimed at filling a gap in modern research on the Islamic concept of exorcism and the supernatural world related to it, based upon the sources considered authentic by Islamic authorities and augmented by field research. The possession of humans by jinns and their expulsion are thoroughly discussed. A comparative study is made with Christian exorcist tradition and the medical professions point of view. Case studies of leading Muslim exorcists from Egypt, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Pakistan and India are included. [less]

‘Death is the ultimate reality of life.’ This life on earth is only a transitory phase on the way to paradise or hell, as the case may be. Islam as the complete code of life has a set of complete instructions for both the dying person and for those around him or her who are charged with the sacred duty of performing the last rites. Due to non-Islamic influences, Muslims have drifted away from the established practice of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all). Many Muslims no longer know or practice the necessary rites, and often mix in un-Islamic practices with the funeral ritual. Dr. Bilal Philips has written Funeral Rites in Islam in order to serve the needs of English-speaking Muslims, using easy-to-understand explanations and instructions based strictly on the fundamental sources of Islam—the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Part 5 of the Islamic Creed Series

What happens after death? When will the end of the world be? Are we really living in the ‘last days’? These are questions which concern everyone, no matter what his or her background. Many have tried to answer these questions, producing theories that range from the fanciful to the nihilistic, but manmade notions cannot answer questions about matters which the human has no way of finding out by himself or herself. In these as in so many other issues, Islam brings us answers. Surely the One who gives life and takes it away is the One who is the best to inform us of what happens after death. The One who has created this universe and humankind is the best to tell us about when this world will come to an end and humankind will be called to judgement. He has informed us about these matters, in His Book and through His Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him). In this book, Dr. ‘Umar al-Ashqar examines all these issues from the point of view of the Qur’an and the Sunnah. He looks at issues of death and what happens to a person’s soul after death, including the questioning of the angels and the torment of the grave. He also examines the signs of the Last Hour, which indicate that the Day of Judgement is approaching – many of which are already happening. As always, he quotes extensively from the texts, placing these issues squarely within an Islamic framework and dispelling the myths and misunderstandings that have arisen and become prevalent. This Islamic Creed Series of books has been translated into English by Nasiruddin al-Khattab. [less]

Allaah has not left mankind devoid of any equipment, for he has given them eeman that which is a shield, remembrance of him (dhikr) as preparation and the seeking of protection of him (al-isti' adhah) as a weapon. Allah has exposed the steps and methods taken by Shaytan, so that if a person neglects his shield and weapon and falls short in recognizing the plots and plans of his enemy, then his enemy will have power over him - and there is no ability or power except from Allah. If the servant of Allaah gives permission to his enemy, opens the door to his house for him, admits him therein and allows him to brandish the weapon on to fight with then he is alone to blame, and he should not blame anyone but himself. Truly it is by permission of Allah that a person once stated: 'Die in grief, for you have no excuse'. [less]
